Small City, Big Trees
Eagleville is small: 813 people at the 2020 census, up from 604 in 2010, in a city of roughly three square miles. Tree Service in Eagleville looks different from work in the Murfreesboro subdivisions. Trees here are often older, larger and farther from the house, on fence lines, along drives and around barns. The jobs tend to be fewer but bigger, and access across a pasture or down a long gravel drive is part of the plan.
The April 2023 tornado ended just east of town
Early on April 1, 2023, an EF1 tornado with peak winds near 110 mph touched down west of Chapel Hill in Marshall County and tracked 12.98 miles to a point about 6 miles east of Eagleville, lifting south of Versailles Road. In Rutherford County, the National Weather Service survey notes several trees blown down on Highway 41A and more knocked down along Bunker Hill Road and Hant Hollow Road. That is the kind of damage that keeps showing up for months afterward: cracked limbs that hang in a canopy, trees with roots partly torn on one side, and leaners that fall the next time the ground is soaked.
If your trees came through that storm, or any wind event since, it is worth a look for:
- Hanging or partly broken limbs caught in the crown
- Bark peeled or split along the trunk or a major limb
- Soil lifted on one side of the trunk
- A lean that was not there before
A city that changed counties
Eagleville was settled in 1790 and founded in 1832 under the name Manchester. It took the Eagleville name when a post office opened in 1836, because another Tennessee town already used Manchester. It belonged to Williamson County until 1877 and joined Rutherford County after Williamson refused to build a road linking it to Franklin. It was incorporated as a city in 1977. In 2015 it finished a $3.1 million sewer system. If you are planting trees near a newer sewer lateral, keep in mind that roots follow moisture, and fast-growing, water-seeking trees such as willows are a poor choice close to a line.
Getting wood off a rural lot
There is no city brush truck at most rural Eagleville addresses, so cleanup is part of the job. Some owners want everything chipped and hauled. Others want trunk rounds left by the barn for firewood, or chips spread along a fence row. Before you burn a brush pile, check BurnSafeTN, the state Division of Forestry's site, which posts whether a burn permit is currently required and tells residents to check local restrictions too.

Eagleville Questions
Can you get equipment to a tree in the middle of a pasture?
Usually. We ask about gates, ground conditions and livestock up front, and on soft ground we may wait for drier weather or use a route that avoids the wettest spots.
Can I burn the brush instead of paying to haul it?
Possibly. Check BurnSafeTN for whether a state permit is currently required, and check county and local rules as well. If you plan to burn, we can stack the brush where you want it and price the job without haul-off.
A tree on my fence line hangs over the neighbor's field. Can you take only that side?
We can reduce limbs on one side, but heavy one-sided cuts can unbalance a tree. We will tell you if a reduction will leave it lopsided or weak and what the alternatives are.
Do you take on small jobs out here, or only big removals?
Both. A single dead limb over a drive or one leaning tree by a barn is a normal job. If you have several trees that need work, doing them on one visit usually keeps the cost per tree lower because the equipment only makes one trip.
